Aprilia USA Brought Hollywood to Road Racing with Blockbuster Debut

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen inspired Aprilia race bike unveiled
during action-packed Road America weekend

NEW YORK, NY – June 6, 2009 – Aprilia USA  added a special dose of Hollywood
blockbuster excitement to the AMA Pro Daytona SportBike series when it
unveiled a one-of-a-kind Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen inspired race
bike today.  This special stealth edition of an Aprilia RSV 1000 Factory
competition machine made its debut during Round 6 of the road racing series
at Road America in Elkhart Lake, WI.

The aggressively styled Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen Aprilia bike
revved up excitement for the June 24 opening of one of this year’s most
anticipated movies among an estimated audience of over 70,000 race fans.

Enthusiasts had plenty of chances to see the bike up close, on the track,
online and will be able to watch it during a future segment of AMA Pro Prime
Time on SpeedTV.  Following its Paddock debut, KWS Factory Aprilia Millenium
Technologies rider Ben Thompson (97) took the bike to the starting grid
twice.  Race 1 of the Daytona SportBike was at 4 p.m., Saturday, June 6 and
Race 2 begins at 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 7.  In addition to his exclusive
ride, Thompson waged an equally ferocious helmet, whose design matches the
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen theme.

In addition, Aprilia hosted an exclusive Midwest unveiling of the
revolutionary 2010 RSV 4 Factory streetbike.  Expected to transform the
production superbike category with its unique blend of brutal power, Italian
style and technical innovation, this was the very first Midwest appearance
of the Aprilia RSV 4.  It is the only RSV 4 currently on U.S. soil.

Aprilia and superbike fans also had the chance to test the latest
motorcycles from the Italian manufacturer by partaking in the Aprilia
Adventure: Road America.  For riders who want to experience the adrenaline
rush of Aprilia motorcycles, the Aprilia Adventure is the antidote to the
traditional short demo ride.  Instead of a few minutes riding through
traffic, enthusiasts had plenty of time to fully appreciate the real
capabilities of the bikes.  Along the way, participants also enjoyed
hospitality, refreshments and an Aprilia gift bag.  The Aprilia Adventure
was open to licensed riders with proper riding gear for $20.00 per person.

Moto Guzzi Announces “Grand Tour of Italy in America” Winner

Moto Guzzi Announces “Grand Tour of Italy in America” Winner

From Tuscany (California) to Rimini (South Carolina) and 78 Italian-inspired
destinations in between, an Ohio motorcycle enthusiast lives la dolce vita
American-style

New York, NY – February 6, 2009 – John E. Frick, a Cincinnati, Ohio-based
business owner, passionate motorcycle enthusiast and long-distance endurance
rider, will be enjoying his next two-wheel adventure on a new Moto Guzzi
Norge 1200.  Moto Guzzi’s distinctive sport touring bike has been awarded to
Frick for winning the “Grand Tour of Italy in America,” a unique motorcycle
tour created by the American Motorcycling Association (AMA) as part of its
AMA Road Riding Cycle Trader Tours With KOA Along The Way program.  The “do
it yourself” tour was designed to appeal to riders who appreciate both the
thrill of the ride and the joy of discovering new destinations – in this
case all inspired by Italian locales and culture.

Participants were challenged to chart their own course from an official list
of destinations, ranging from towns like The Vatican, Louisiana, to venues
such as the Tuscany Motel in Wildwood, New Jersey.  Embodying the relaxed
pace and spirit of Italy, the tour stipulated no time or mileage limits,
allowing riders to travel at their own pace.  Riders documented each
official stop with a photo to provide proof of their visit. One point was
earned for each destination in a participant’s home state; two points were
awarded for stops visited in adjoining states, and three points for all
distant destinations.

Competitors with 25 or more points earned a commemorative pin and were
entered into a special sweepstakes.  In addition to the Moto Guzzi Norge
1200 grand prize, sweepstakes winners received “motociclista style”
wearables from Moto Guzzi’s new line of retro-inspired sweaters, as well as
modern riding gear designed for the serious enthusiast.

All registrants received a complimentary Moto Guzzi towel, collectible pin,
and a coupon redeemable for a new Moto Guzzi hat.

To claim his Moto Guzzi Norge 1200 grand prize, Frick visited more than
80 locations over the course of seven months. Stops included Argenta, Il;
Milan, TN; Rimni, S.C.; Rome, MS; Genoa, WI; Verona, ND; Tivoli, NY;
Sardinia, OH; Parma, MO, and, of course, Italy, TX.  Frick also visited
more than 25 Motor Guzzi dealerships, as well as Italian-themed locations
such as the Italian-American Banquet Hall in Livonia, MI, and an Italian
festival in Nutley, NJ.

“For me, every phase of the Grand Tour was fun, from planning and riding to
finding a unique or interesting object for the photo to document the visit,
even the record-keeping,” Frick said. “The learning element of the tour
was certainly a big part of the attraction. For example, I previously had no
idea that there is a city in Italy (population 32,000)  with the name of
Nola.  So I decided to visit Nola, Mississippi, which may have a population
of 10!”

With plenty of roads leading to Rome – or hundreds of other Italian-inspired
destinations – Frick’s adventures prove that the Italian spirit is thriving
on U.S. soil.  And, when enjoyed on a legendary Moto Guzzi motorcycle, it’s
double the dolce vita.

Our new version of the demo ride will give riders more time to fully appreciate Aprilia technology.” Each hour-and-a-half Aprilia Adventure Daytona ride will be customized to take advantage of the best local and regional riding routes. Along the way, riders can sample and swap new 2009 models such as the all-new Aprilia Dorsoduro 750 as well as long-time favorites, such as the award-winning Tuono and RSV 1000 R. AMA’s Motorcycle Hall of Fame Museum Offers 1953 Vincent Black Shadow for
Auction

PICKERINGTON, OHIO – The AMA’s Motorcycle Hall of Fame Museum is offering
enthusiasts the opportunity to add a historic machine to their collection.
Beginning today, January 23, the Museum is auctioning a 1953 Vincent Black
Shadow on eBay.  The auction will run through February 1, 2009.

The 1953 Vincent Black Shadow on the auction block was restored by famed
Vincent restorer Mike White of Ontario, Canada, and Brent Mayfield of
Centerville, Ohio.  The 1953 production is fully documented through copies
of factory paperwork, and photos of the machine prior to restoration are
available.  The Vincent was originally purchased by the Museum specifically
for the annual 2008 Motorcycle Hall of Fame Museum raffle.  This year, for
the first time, the winner of the Museum’s raffle chose to accept an
alternate cash prize instead of the motorcycle, allowing the Museum the
opportunity to auction the 1953 Vincent Black Shadow. Riders can log on to
eBay.com and enter ID number 160311565061 to bid on the classic Vincent.
Winning the bike is a perfect way to kick-start 2009, and all proceeds will
support the non-profit Museum and its mission of telling the exciting
stories and preserving the history of American motorcycling.

In addition, enthusiasts can enter the 2009 Motorcycle Hall of Fame Museum
raffle for a chance to win a pair of Bonnevilles. The 2009 raffle winner, to
be picked during 2009 AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days, will be able to choose
one of two prizes: a prize package valued at $35,000 featuring a fully
restored 1959 pre-unit T120 Bonneville and an all-new limited edition 2009
50th Anniversary T100 Bonneville, or a $25,000 cash award.  Tickets can be
purchased at http://www.motorcyclemuseum.org or by calling (614) 856-2222.

Fundraisers such as the Vincent auction and Triumph raffle – as well as the
recently concluded 2008 Leather and Ice Online Holiday Auction – are vital
to supporting the Museum’s award-winning exhibitions as well as the
Motorcycle Hall of Fame, which honors the men and women who shaped the
industry and sport of motorcycling. Over 400 items donated by 142 museum
supporters were up for grabs in the 2008 Leather and Ice Auction, which
raised over $25,000 for the Museum. The Museum extends its gratitude to all
those who helped make the 2008 auction such a success.

Enthusiasts interested in supporting the Museum’s fundraisers in 2009 should
contact Toni Shoap at (614) 856-2222 ext. 1340 or tshoap@ama-cycle.org.
